The End of an Era

by Jasmine Aguilar

As the 2019 – 2020 school year closes, the 2019 class adds itself upon the list of former alumni of Ellison. Every year, teachers, faculty, and friends say goodbye to the graduating class and, since 1978, Ellison students have soared off into adulthood. So often we become focused on our own life that we forget the achievement that other students feel at the end of a year. The 2019 class could be noted as nothing special, but to those that are apart of this class it is. This is how every year has gone, the graduating class is important to those in it and much less, nearly none, to those who aren’t. As the 2019 class bids their farewell, these are the messages they give to their underclassmen and the rising seniors:

“Don’t let life go by too quick. Live in the moment.” Domonique Procter ‘19

“Be involved. You’ll regret not doing anything when it's time for you to leave.” Kamiyah Burks ‘19

“Don’t procrastinate!” Aaron Nicoll ‘19

“Certainly take advantage of the resources available to you, regardless of how little or excessive they may be. Also, allow yourself to relax occasionally to avoid being burned out.” John Jasper Alday ‘19

“Don’t over think, don't allow yourself to be lazy, and have a goal to motivate you.” Grace Yi ‘19

“Be kind to others and yourself, school is important and always work hard but never forget about your health.” Jasmine Aguilar ‘19

“Don't wait until the last minute to do your assignments or else you're really going to struggle.” Timothy Doyle ‘19

“Don't worry about the small things that won't matter in 2 years.” Everado Ocasio ‘19

Make the most of your years at Ellison, it’s doors are always opened for opportunity and will go by faster than you think. Most importantly, go Ellison Eagles!
