Prom has been a night that we have grown up hearing about, from movies like Sixteen Candles to spotlight episodes of tv shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and The Regular Show. Prom has always been told as a night of magic (except for the occasional horror movie like Carrie). A night where the nerd and the jock fall in love or a dramatic sing along.
Ellison’s 2019 prom was one of gold and glitter as the theme was Hollywood Night. The event planned out by the junior class of 2020 as their gift to all to the seniors.

The prom candidates for kings were Kenneth Hannah, Isiah Brown, and Julian Jimenez. The prom queen candidates were Semira Fields, Dora Solis, and Shakaylan Williams. Ultimately as the night ended, after all too many top hits and blisters from heels, Isiah Brown and Semira Fields were crowned King and Queen.

As the night ended many ended up IHOP and Chili’s along with places that I have to censor. Prom was a spectacular night and many Ellison students will remember this dance for years to come.
